Collaboration Report: Save the Storks
How Stand For Life Partners with Other Pro-life Organizations
Save the Storks, under the leadership of CEO Diane Ferraro, has become a transformative force in women’s health, providing holistic care through mobile medical clinics and the For Every Woman initiative. With a mission to serve women facing unplanned pregnancies, Save the Storks partners with churches, pregnancy centers, and other organizations to meet women where they are—both physically and emotionally—offering life-affirming resources and support.
As partners in Stand For Life, Save the Storks exemplifies the power of collaboration within the holistic pro-life movement, working together with ministries and health organizations to save lives and provide lasting hope.
2024 Highlights and Major Wins
In 2024, Save the Storks reached new milestones through innovative programs and strategic partnerships. Diane Ferraro shared some of the year’s most inspiring successes:
- Launch of the “For Every Woman” Program: This initiative was introduced in Orange County, California, where it offers eight pillars of support for women, including maternal healthcare, job training, childcare, and mental health resources. Diane shared how personally meaningful this project was to her as someone who was almost aborted in the same county decades earlier.
- Church and Community Partnerships: Collaborations with Mariners Church, Orange County Rescue Mission, and Horizon Pregnancy Center expanded the program’s reach, allowing mobile medical clinics to serve vulnerable women, including those facing homelessness, addiction, and abuse.
- A New Partnership with Orange County Jail: After seeing an article about the For Every Woman initiative, jail administrators reached out to offer women in their care an alternative to Planned Parenthood. “This is the most beautiful picture of God’s divine intervention,” Diane reflected.
These achievements reflect Save the Storks’ commitment to both saving lives and empowering women through compassionate, Christ-centered care.
Growing Unity in the Holistic Pro-Life Movement
Reflecting on her experience since joining Save the Storks in 2018, Diane noted both challenges and progress in whole life pro-life collaboration. Early on, she encountered resistance when trying to partner with other organizations, which she described as disheartening given the unity presented by groups like Planned Parenthood.
However, Diane has since seen a shift toward greater collaboration, thanks in part to initiatives like Stand For Life. “It’s been incredible to watch Stand For Life connect ministries across America,” Diane shared. “Whether it’s pregnancy centers through Heartbeat International, Embrace Grace helping moms, or Human Coalition advocating for women, this movement is more united than ever.”
Diane emphasized the critical role Stand For Life plays in bringing diverse organizations together to work for a common cause: “This is the new wave of pro-life—a movement rooted in both compassion and collaboration.”
Collaborative Success Stories
Save the Storks has engaged in several successful partnerships with other Stand For Life organizations:
- Hurricane Relief Efforts with Human Coalition: During recent hurricanes in the Southeast, Save the Storks and Human Coalition worked together to support women facing pregnancy crises. Many women who had lost their homes or jobs felt pressured to choose abortion. Within 24 hours, the two organizations launched a resource hub to offer immediate counseling and support, resulting in numerous women choosing life.
- Expanding Support Through Embrace Grace: Save the Storks frequently refers women and pregnancy centers to Embrace Grace, which provides holistic support for new moms, including mentorship, spiritual guidance, and baby showers. Diane highlighted the transformative impact of these partnerships, noting that “we’re saving two lives—both the baby’s and the mother’s—by connecting women to the hope of Christ.”
Diane praised the role of Stand For Life in facilitating these partnerships, saying, “It’s beautiful to see how these leading ministries come together to serve moms with greater intentionality.”
Looking Ahead: Save the Storks’ Vision for 2025
Save the Storks is gearing up for a transformative year in 2025, with a major initiative set to launch in Colorado:
- New Mobile Medical Clinic in Denver Metro: Save the Storks is bringing a state-of-the-art mobile clinic to an area where abortion rates have surged since the overturning of Roe. The clinic will serve women facing homelessness, immigration challenges, and other hardships, offering a life-affirming alternative to abortion.
- Statewide Awareness Campaign: The clinic will embark on a road tour across Colorado, visiting churches, government offices, and even public colleges. Diane shared her excitement for the initiative: “We’re going to show the rest of the country what life looks like when the Church and community come together. Colorado can become a model of hope and healing, even in a state with one of the highest abortion rates.”
This effort exemplifies Save the Storks’ mission to provide not only physical care but also spiritual renewal for women in crisis. Diane concluded, “No woman should ever feel she has to choose abortion. We are here to help her choose life and choose it abundantly.”
