Heartbeat International’s 2024 Milestones

Heartbeat International reached new heights in 2024, including: 

• Expanding their global reach: Over 3,600 affiliated locations now span across 90 countries, providing life-affirming services to women and families worldwide. 
• Increasing maternity home partnerships: With over 200 U.S.-based maternity homes now affiliated, Heartbeat supports women through pregnancy and beyond, offering holistic care during a critical time of need. 
• Saving over 6,000 lives: Heartbeat’s response for women who change their minds during chemical abortions has made a lasting impact, giving thousands of women and their children a new future filled with hope. 

These accomplishments, however, have not come without significant challenges. In 2024, Heartbeat faced legal and political opposition. Yet in the face of this adversity, Heartbeat saw collaboration become a powerful force for resilience. 

A Moment of Collaboration in Crisis

During Heartbeat’s annual conference, some affiliates were served legal notices by the state attorney general. What could have been a moment of isolation and fear turned into an opportunity for collaboration. In a providential twist, many of the country’s leading pro-life legal experts, including representatives from Alliance Defending Freedom, the Thomas More Society, and NIFLA, were in the room. 

Within days, Heartbeat International and its affiliates had organized a counter-lawsuit to protect their life-saving work and the rights of women to change their minds about abortion. This story highlights a deeper truth: when holistic pro-life organizations work together, the impact is exponentially greater. 

How Stand For Life Facilitates Collaboration

Heartbeat International’s story is just one example of the power of partnerships in our movement and network. Stand For Life plays a key role in fostering these connections by creating spaces for collaboration, both digitally and in-person. Through strategic partnerships, collaborative events, and resource-sharing, Stand For Life ensures that organizations like Heartbeat have the support they need to thrive in an often-hostile cultural landscape. 

“We are motivated by the same God who created life,” Jor-El Godsey shared during the interview. “When we stand together—whether as large organizations or small ministries—the impact is undeniable. Stand For Life has been instrumental in aligning efforts and strengthening partnerships.” 

This unity reflects a shared mission rooted in the imago Dei. By working in unison, we can create a culture where every woman, child, and family has access to the care, hope, and support they need to flourish. 

Looking Forward to 2025

As Heartbeat International looks to the future, their focus remains clear: speed and accessibility in a digital-first world. “She’s a click away from an abortion,” Jor-El explained, “so we need to be ready—24/7—to meet her with compassion, clarity, and tangible help.”
